How We Define Horsemanship

Horsemanship is more than just the act of saddling and riding a horse. It is about understanding the horse's movements, emotions, and thoughts, and knowing how they are influenced by various stressors. As horsemen, it is our responsibility to support the horse in every situation and to turn them into willing participants. This requires a mastery of our own thoughts, movements, emotions, and behaviors, as horses can sense anxiety, anger, frustration, and other emotions from their handlers. Ultimately, horsemanship creates a deep connection that meets the needs of the horse, and together, we can create a true partnership.
